Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this spring we transitioned our lectures and workshops online and deepened our focus on our online resources Immerse and DocuBase. Here are a few of the highlights.
- Spring public lectures including “Augmented Reality for Education and Activism” by Glenn Cantave and Idris Brewster and “Indigenous Tech, Indigenous Knowledge: Wampum.codes as a model for decolonization” by Mozilla Co-Creation Fellow Amelia Winger-Bearskin
- DocuBase Tools including RunwayML and Reach.love
- DocuBase Projects including InfoAmazonia by Gustavo Faleiros and Sea Prayer by Khaled Hosseini
- Docubase Playlists including “The Personal is the Political” by VR creator Paisley Smith and “Let’s Not Forget the Climate Crisis” by us
- New issues of Immerse, with articles centering around embodiment, extraction, climate change and COVID-19
- Mozilla Open Web Fellow at Co-Creation Studio, Amelia Winger-Bearskin launched the wampum.codes podcast
- The Indigenous Digital and Media Delegation at Co-Creation Studio, with the Indigenous Screen Office, featuring 14 Indigenous media scholars and artists, moved online and will continue in Fall 2020 with a series of virtual talks, exchanges and incubators
